Can't Recall What You Just Learned? Blame Menopause

A recent study - http://www.neurology.org/cgi/content/abstract/72/21/1850 published in the journal Neurology confirms what many women have long suspected: Perimenopause causes brain fog. Researchers found that women's ability to learn dipped in the years leading up to menopause, but later rebounded. Women who received hormone therapy prior to menopause fared somewhat better. Due to the potential risks, the FDA recommends that women interested in hormone therapy take the smallest dose for the shortest period of time to help relieve troubling symptoms. Discuss the pros and cons with your doctor.
