Building staffs

On the 3rd of September the staffs of AWA were trained  on how to handle administrative management skills and how to carry out community work. Most of them were so glad to learn some new skills and shared their ideas and ask for more training as such to be organized.

The most important part was talking about  Albinism, types of albinism, skin cancer, and most importantly albinism as a DISABILITY.

Most people  in my country don't consider albinism as a disability, let me first of say  what disability  is all about" Disability is the inability of a person to perform certain tasks under normal conditions. So person with  albinism cannot stand the sun or UV rays and such finds it difficult to perform task under the sun which might lead to skin cancer. Secondly  persons living with albinism cannot see under normal circumstances, this can be corrected by a lense but not in all causes some are totally visually  unable . The UN has declared persons living with albinism as part of the disability (www.unicef.org. 20/08/2020.) And Albinism and the UN.  Due to their vision  but what am really crying  and requsting is that skin cancer is killer disease towards persons with albinism most especially in Africa due to thi harsh sun rays and high poverty rate, something should really be done about it. I also need more people to support in my initiative " No sunburns no skin cancer" to help put an end to the high rate of deaths caused by skin cancer most especially towards persons with albinism.

I Also plead on the government of my country Cameroon to put policies that strictly specify  on their documents persons living with albinism and not disability because most persons who advocate for disability hardly include persons living with albinism and at the end they are left out in everything and have a  greater fight for what is their rights.

#Persons with albinism should be included in every opportunities given to persons with disabilities it is their rights not  a plea #
