Building a Better World Pulse — Coming Soon

A better World Pulse is coming. And it’s only possible because of you.

A new World Pulse community platform is on the way: designed with your feedback in mind to be more personalized, connective, and community-powered! In The coming weeks, we’ll share more about the new site that will help you build deeper global connections, solidarity, and impact.

Over the years, we’ve listened deeply to community feedback about ways to improve the World Pulse online experience and have made small changes along the way. You’ve cast your votes on what matters most to you as a World Pulse member and shared survey feedback about the most important benefits for the World Pulse badged leadership roles. Plus, we recently launched a Technology Design Justice board made up of a diverse group of World Pulse members to advise on and test platform iterations to improve the member experience. We also launched the Powershift Inclusive Excellence (PIE) Committee with a mandate to guide the shifting of power and decision-making to you — the World Pulse online community.

As a result, you’ve seen some gradual changes on the site over the last year including:

• a new Impact Dashboard available on your profile to keep track of your growing impact.


• Topic, Region, and even Country Hubs to better highlight the stories and work you’re doing.


• A redesigned homepage to better showcase the positive impact you’re creating to anyone who visits our site.

And now, your valuable feedback has helped us to roll out our biggest update to date. We’re making the platform more community-powered than ever.

The redesigned World Pulse site will allow you to:

• Discover more connections: You’ll find it easier to find stories on issues you care about and connect to even more members who share your passions and interests through a personalized feed.


• Find more support as a storyteller: You’ll experience a guided step-by-step storytelling experience so you can tell the story you were always meant to tell. You will also be able to tag your story with the type of support you are seeking, so readers will know how they can best support you. Ultimately, you’ll have greater control and choice on where your story appears and how you’d like people to respond to it.


• Deepen your dialogues: You’ll find new ways to build solidarity with a special feature for authors that enables you to “affirm” comments you receive — you can now let the commenter instantly know their comment made a significant positive impact on you.


• Display your organizations and affiliations: You’ll be able to share on your profile organizations and networks you are a part of - making visible the collective power of the movements you are making - or that have made you who you are.


• Find a clearer path to grow your leadership: You’ll have additional opportunities to grow your leadership with new Leadership Badges - and we have made it more motivating and fun than ever to track your leadership growth!

In addition to new features and ways to grow your leadership, the new World Pulse platform will be a fully redesigned experience — and we will continue to add in new features and upgrades throughout the year in response to community feedback.

Please note:

• We’ve redesigned the resources section to be more organized and easier to find. The experience will be much simpler than what you may be used to, and we are planning to upgrade this area throughout the year.


• We are revamping our customer service systems, allowing you to more easily find answers to your questions or connect with World Pulse staff through a live chat feature.


• We are doubling down on member safety and security to an even greater degree. We’ve upgraded our technology platform to ensure your privacy is secure. And to further ensure proper safety and security, we’re asking members to prepare for the new update by taking the following steps.
  
  

Get ready for the new update:

• with the coming site update, all private messaging activity will be cleared for security purposes. If you’d like a copy of your previous messaging activity, please contact us for more information.


• You will be asked to reset your password upon your first login to the newly updated site.


• Please review your profile to ensure all your account information is correct, such as your country affiliation.

remember, this will just be the beginning!

This new update will just be the beginning of even more improvements to come. We’re excited to release a new, improved World Pulse that reflects community input, ideas, and feedback.

With every upgrade we roll out, we’re committed to learning as we go — and that means hearing directly from you.
