Breast Examination Demonstration in Community

Reaching out to rural communities in Bikurungu in  Rukungiri District with Breast cancer information is critical. Teaching women how to detect breast lumps through demonstration.  They showed so much enthusiasm to learn more about Breast cancer and also how it can be prevented and treated. Alot of myths surround breast cancer in our Uganda communities. So this awareness was very useful. For example communities believe it is witch craft, use of contraceptives etc. Its unfortunate that very few health workers are trained on how to manage Breast cancer., let alone health facilitates which are ill equipped to treated or provide information to the patients and public. The only place is the National Referral Hospital in Kampala-Mulago
