Jun 15, 2020
story
Mr Mohamed Nasheed, the leader of Maldives Democratic Party (MDP), was arrested couple of hours ago without an arrest warrant. In Maldives the Justice system and the Maldivian Police Service are both corrupt. The people of Maldives cannot trust the government at all.
The members of his party and others fear that Nasheed may be killed in this process. Already there are tweets and facebook updated that has expressed their concerns.
“......So the tyrant WAHEED is determined to kill President [Nasheed].......He has arrested President [Nasheed] completely in violation of the laws.... unless the entire population of Male' come out to the street and take over the Baaghee [traitor] regime cruelty, much worse can be expected.....
“.... we should go willingly to sacrifice ourselfs thats how the indians brought the independence movement..thats how the whole world did it...we thought we were lucky enough that we brought a change without bloodshed & it was the biggest fault assumption...we are no exception when it comes to independence movement”
The above statement indicates that within the country there is no independence for the people. The above updates show the heat in the capital island. Some tweets have requested the people from different island to come out and gather.
A tweet states “dear world, pls save our candidate Mohamed Nasheed, I am concerned that MV [Maldivian police] police might Poisson [poison] him, hand [hang] him in the cell..!!!” sometime ago. This is likely to happen. The violence is extreme and Mr Nasheed has been threatened during the time of mutiny.
International decision makes who accepted the current government after the police mutiny need to further look into the situation and ensure that Mr Nasheed is released as soon as possible before it is too late.
I call for international action – In Maldives it is a like the “Animal Farm” Some are more equal that others. It is a tiny nation comparatively small population even if one person is treated unjustly then the whole humanity is treated unjustly.
The near future is not predictable! Things will heat up and people will suffer!
