There are a zillion non- profits out there. Funding for non- profits are tighter by the day, competition is high so what do we have to do to get visibility and funders for the Enterprise?
Branding and Marketing
These twosome will make the whole lot of difference. Impressions matter in the business of selling a non profit's work . Branding is what impressions one creates. What comes to mind when they people think of an organization and what it has to offer. It is who or what an Enterprise is. It reflects core values of an organization. It gives unique identity to an Enterprise.
In branding an Enterprise, questions to be asked are, what is our unique selling point? What do we have to offer? What logo will represent our vision? How do we do what we say and say what we do? Do all our team players understand our values? How do we make our values show in all our activities? Our brand is our strategy, both written and visual.
It is important that our stakeholders do not have the wrong perception . Our Stakeholders are the people who will benefit from the offerings of the Enterprise, people who will donate to our cause , funders who we want to attract and those we can collaborate with to drive the change we desire.
Marketing is how we will spread the word of who we are and what we have to offer to our stakeholders. It's the tools we use to tell our story.
In the course of building a brand, we we will review our mission, vision and objectives.
The team will brainstorm and come up with values that represent what we are doing and will want to achieve.
We will get feedback from our already existing supporters and donors to help us improve on our workings.
We will take advantage of the social media to tell our story, share our successes , make our campaigns known and calls for actions.
International Days and trends like # giving Tuesdays ,we will utilize to get visibility and funders.
Setting up a website to tell our story with clear call to action on our work.
Building a relationship of trust with the supporters and donors is key. Giving reports of work so they know what their funding is achieving .
With increased commitment and capacity building of the brand, we can build a connection with funders, supporters and collaborators which will translate to more credibility, visibility and funding for the Enterprise.
