In my previous story i shared, i emphasised the fact that we need to accept ourselves especially our body types. in today's episode of my view on BODY POSITIVITY, we will be looking into some terminologies and their understanding in the unique roles they play.

lets start with BODY IMAGE; its both the mental picture we have of our own body and how we see ourselves when we look in the mirror. Body image also means recognising the qualities and strength that make us feel good about ourselves.

BODY-ESTEEM is how you value and respect yourselves as a person. Self-Esteem affects how you take care of yourself; emotionally, physically, mentally, financially and spiritually.

these two have direct influence on us. that is to say that; if you have a healthy body image, you will be comfortable with yourself and know how to take care of it. when someone doesn't like her body, they may probably not feel good about themselves. this can lead to overthinking , not enough sleep, stay away from friends and family, or turning down offers to do things they may enjoy.

when these happen, one needs a positive environment where friends are supportive of each other and accept each other's appearance is essential to self-esteem and body image. Also we need to encourage such people to treat their bodies with respect, eat balanced diets, try to be in motion or exercise not necessarily gym, get enough rest and get on exciting adventures and trips with positive minded-people.

Recommendation : Lets try as much as we can not to judge people based on weight, body type, shape and sizes.

1. Dress in a way that makes you feel good because the internet is full of body negativity and deceit, photoshops and other aesthetic fashions that makes  others people feel worthless. There is a tone of fashion for everybody.

2. Get rid of all the clothes in your closet that don't fit. this includes clothes that you can wear only when dieting and clothes you wear to draw attention away from your body shape.

3. Make provision for outfits you enjoy wearing.

4. Stop comparing yourself to others because everybody is unique like our fingerprints.

5. absorb body positive messages

With summer in full swing and social media flooded with pictures of people from across the world flaunting their toned bodies—often tanned to perfection—feeling the pressure to "look good" is only natural.

According to Forbes, Barnes says "Social media is an incredible way to connect with folks around the world and to forge a community. Unfortunately, it is also an easy way to compare ourselves to others, particularly our appearance," "We all know certain body types that are idealised in our society, that’s nothing new, but the proliferation of social media means we see them more than ever before—now with likes and comments offering additional validation," notes Barnes. Add creative lighting and touch-up filters on top of that and one can completely change the way they present themselves or are presented to us, says Stephanie Taylor, health and wellbeing expert and founder of StressNoMore.  I agree with him because behind the scenes of certain photos we see online as a perfect body type are heavy use of editing softwares like photoshop, lightroom, snapseed and many more.
