Be a sister's Keeper and make a difference

My name is Leonissa Tembo Chalabesa. I live in Lusaka, Zambia.

Zambian women, like in other countries, have many challenges that they face. Ranging from gender based violence, lack of economic empowerment, early marriages, marginalisation to all forms of abuse. It becomes a challenge to spread one's tentacles to reach every woman in need. My encouraging word today is, you do not need to reach everyone at a goal, all you need is to reach out to the person next to you.

Due to many African beliefs and culture, most women suffer abuse in silence. There is need to be a 'sister's keeper' by recognising silent cries in women around us. Offer your support and let women bring out their fears in order to heal. Make that difference today and be a sister's keeper.
