Arise Africa

The Change that I Want, Bold Africa

They say being born poor is not someone’s choice but dying poor is one’s choice. In a growing continent where poverty is the order of the day new alternatives have been found to aid individuals alleviate it at a personal level and help in growing the wanting economies in different countries. We have to start from the roots, ourselves to be able to achieve what we want as a continent and as a country. We are living in an era where one small mistake haunts us and the coming generation. What if we ended the blame games and we all participate in building our continent and our countries?

By showcasing our spacious cultures we will not only be entertaining and earning a coin from it by also passing it on to generations who are growing up without the knowledge of their cultures and heritage.

Skills and talents should also be embraced as they will go a long way in keeping stay-at-home mothers’ busy, idle youth engaged whereby they will have almost no time to engage in drugs and crimes. Letting people engage in what they are good at will also lower the rapid growth of mental illnesses which is making its roots in not only our continent by the globe at large. For Africa to win we have to win at a personal level.

The fact that various skills are self-taught, people can learn from their fellows within their locality. Who knows where those skills if fully utilized will be the breakthrough for several individuals and eventually their country. We can’t always feed from the already made while we can make it by ourselves thereby creating employment.

Not everyone is privileged to access high education but that doesn’t mean we should let illiteracy be a barrier to our growth because if we do poverty will be passed on to generations. It was okay to try and fail than not to try at all.

Let us help one another, shun ignorance and embrace the spirit of growth and brotherhood to build a better Africa, comfortable for us and for generations to come. And to our able governments please create a safe environment for people to thrive in. Creating a market for locally produced and handmade goods will go a long way in encouraging people to do more of what they are good at, a step away from poverty.

Our girls need help especially those in marginalized areas with menstrual cycle poverty which leaves them so vulnerable. Many end up skipping classes and some end up dropping out when it becomes extreme others become victims of early pregnancies, and premature deaths in their quest to acquire sanitary towels where they are taken advantage of in exchange for petty cash, we can’t lose our girls to what we can control!

Dear Generation Z let us not be the reason our parents go to bed with heavy hearts, they are still learning about parenting this generation. Times are hard and they won’t be around all the time to attend to us so we should not be hard on them as they are out and about to cater to the arising needs, be the best children they yearn for, and not those adding to their existing crisis.

To our brothers and sisters who embraced terrorism, there is joy in peace if only you can shun the evil and let humanity creep in. You’re amazing without shedding blood the language of peace is far much better than that of destruction and chaos. Should you wipe away the entire population what benefit will it be to you? We can talk and get to a lasting solution peacefully for a better tomorrow.
