ALL EXPENSES PAID BY United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for my USTTI Training in USA

I got this email an hour ago from the Curriculum Director, United States Telecommunications Training Institute (USTTI). I read it and remained speechless for minutes...

**** \"Beatrice,

Congratulations on being accepted to 10-140, “Satellite and Internet Delivery of Educational Television and Multimedia,” sponsored by SCOLA (A Foreign Language TV/Web Provider).

Additionally, the USTTI is pleased confirm that you have been selected to receive funding assistance from the USTTI’s United States Agency for International Development (USAID) grant for your International airfare, shared hotel room, per diem, and ground transportation expenses to attend this sequence. USTTI will pay the hotel directly for your shared hotel accommodations (room and tax). You will receive funds upon arrival in Washington to cover the costs of meals, ground transportation, and miscellaneous expenses. In order to be eligible for this scholarship you must do the following:

  1. Confirm your intention to attend the above USTTI course and your acceptance of this USAID scholarship immediately via email or fax.

  2. Contact the USAID/Uganda office immediately to obtain a J-1 visa (do not contact the Embassy directly) so that USAID pre-departure requirements can be completed in time for you to arrive in Washington, DC on December 2, 2010. You must travel on a J-1 visa to be eligible for this USAID sponsorship. Visa requirements will include a medical exam. Please refer to the attached sheet for a referral for your medical exam. Note that it can take several weeks to process the required J-1 visa, and we urge you to contact USAID as soon as possible. (We are on a tight time constraint for these training courses).

  3. Carefully read and sign the Stakeholder Compact as it explains some of the expectations regarding USAID funding and your J-1 visa. \"*****
