Africa Is A Continent

I stay in AFRICA and it is a CONTINENT.

.South Africa is a small country at the end of this huge melting pot of cultures and traditions and lovely food and different weaves .

No change in the core values that Parents teach their kids in any part of the world..Love,Respect and Dignity .

There are huge problems between the Tsotsis ,the have nots; and those who are making an honest living, same as any other part of the World ..

Christmas is a time when everyone wants to be the best provider for the family and the Malls show a side of extreme opulence ..and all those maxxing the Credit Card leads to a very poor January where people revisit malls to return stuff they bought beforehand ..

We as a community fight our battles together and the intrinsic learning's we teach our kids to respect everyone ,kindness and no discrimination .Judging tends to be an older characteristic that are taught to kids as they grow ..

"People who are fighting or faultfinding with others are always inherently at war with themselves ".No peace here ,Heh.

Hooting and overtaking leads to road rage ,and we stop at every red light even if we are the lone ones.Jackaroos mann our traffic signals when there is a power cut ,but we wait patiently for their command, knowing fully well insurance wil not pay if any damage happens .

.Revving of super Carr's or super Bikes very early morning is as common as late night music coming from the Pubs far away Sound carries purely here.

Our weekends are spend,as growing time for family , attending gatherings ,cleaning house, preparing for the week ahead .Parents hold two jobs ,the second being after school activities that are extremely competitive ..

Also the chaperoning of the kids to various places with their friends needs serious planning ,be it hooman or furbabies ..

The municipality is indecisive and bickering ,but buyers in suburbs pay high for real estate .The politicians are growing richer by the minute ,and remain invincible ..

We still have Clean air and can drink right off our taps ..Ahem,true friend ;adding our famous wine and beer with water ... we look for 20 years old ones and can smell and identify the type of barrel it was stored in ..

The home is not very dusty ,dirty paws on white floors are loved and welcomed ..

A friends or a neighbours visit without their furbabies or hooman kids are unimaginable ,and a cup of Coffee can spread to dinner for all .Standing outside the gate and talking while other neighbours joining in are very common too .

Our WAP group buzzes with a look out for the furbabies ,gardeners, pool cleaners or domestics .Even Choosing Service providers ,vegetable barter , or buying and selling from clothes to furniture's happen right there ..

The elders know how long our kids are loose in our community ,and we too know their health at all times ..And we listen and keep asking them for parenting advice ..Some of them can just hug you and understand You are granted permission to be a child in their presence ,always .

.

A political convict is a topic of discussion for months on end ,like the Grosvenor road one happening right now .It took 15 years by the way to catch this one ..

Our conscience are Ndovlu Choir, JesseClegg,Black Coffee ,and of course Devi ...A photo shoot under the Jacaranda blooms every year is a must. ..

Gardening and growing food at home is as common as all the animals and birds and insects that fill our gardens .Google lens over drive always ...and then sharing the photos .

We still love to spend our evenings sitting outside to BRAAI or dipping in pools in the darkness of night ..Spending quality time with our partners is sacrosanct and we cancel or reschedule appointments around dates with our significant others ... .

Dancing in the Rain is not only for the kids, the Child in Us always remains Alive ..

That is AFRICA, the place that changes every few KM and where our Heart still remains in the Township's and Remote Villages and our Own Hometowns where the Domestics and Gardeners still look forward to retire during December ,as do We ..

Wakanda is our Dream ..and trying to turn it into a reality ..Black Panther is a motivation movie ..
