ADVOCACY MODULE 6 .

          Decision makers are the primary audience , who make change possible . These are individuals or a groups of people who can take decision in relation to the existing problem . The out come of a campaign is to influence a person in authority , to take appropriate steps to facilitate change . And it is important to reach authority who is able to make the changes . In order to achieve that one must be in position to answer these questions , to identify the decision makers , to know the level of change he /she is asking for ? Who has the power to these changes ? Then choose the communication type .

      There are a number of ways to reach the decision maker such as ; meetings , writing letters , petitions , social media and more . Since my advocacy campaign is about defending and seeking the promotion and protection of refugee rights as well as protection and realization of economic , social and cultural rights , freedom to choose and decide for themselves and rights to higher education ( refugee's ) . This involves human rights , and according to my understanding , the decision makers for human rights involve all of us , ranging from UN our government , public authorities , institutions , businesses each of us as an individuals because we all have a role to play in understanding, respecting and defending human rights .

A human rights based approach means that individuals and communities should know their rights , they should be fully supported to participate in the developing of policy and practices which affect their lives and to claim rights where need be .

     The best communication platform for my advocacy campaign is social media , because it is the best way to interact with my audience base ,it allows me to address the problem quickly , which will reach my audience , it is also cheaper and easier , it also gives groups like the HCR lab access to a huge variety to open source information and documentation of human rights violations and this enables the people to share information . It allows me to engage my community , it will amplify my call to changes . And these are some of the social media platforms I intent to use ; Facebook , Instagram , twitter , TikTok , printerest , LinkedIn , YouTube , Snapchat ,wats up and more .
