As an American, I'm proud of these acknowledgements and believe they'll get us closer to safety and justice for all victims. As a victim myself, I know that I was trafficked by a black woman because of the injustices she and others have endured as Black women. It doesn't make what she did right, but it gives me understanding. Because they were, I am. Our realities now interwined, together we move forward, hopefully toward a world where no human being is trafficked, ever. #SisterSafe
