I strongly believe in nutrition and good eating habits to maintain longivity and a healthy life. Later this year November 2022 I am planning an initiative to promote healthy eating habits while using what you have at your disposal, it's going to be a weekend event where I invite elderly citizens to come and have a cooking tutorial with me. The aim and goal is to target grandparents who look after their grandchildren and those who are disadvantaged, with the purpose to equip them with skills and tricks to use in the kitchen to make nutritional balanced meals using whatever they might have at home.
People learn better with visuals especially elders, so the plan is to use a 5 page booklet that includes 5 different vegetable meals only using pictures to illustrate the message. Cooking is supposed to a creative activity with less rules and restrictions, so with the booklet they can be creative and create their own meals using the tools I suggest and adding their own finishing touches.
It's important to introduce new and exciting ways to cook healthy meals, because nutrition is very important in our daily lives. With everything that has been going on with the pandemic and health consequences of it, there has never been a more crucial time than this to really focus in maintaining healthy eating habits for everyone.
The initiative is aimed at equipping young and old with tools to better understand how to cook nnd treat fresh produce in order to maximize and maintain their nutrients, ultimately guaranteeing value adding benefits to your health. Upon successfully executing the first workshop then the goal is to host them every 2 months 2 weekends in a month, servicing different location within my community.
The ultimate goal though is to be able to travel all around the city promoting " How to achieve healthy eating habits while using whatever you have at your disposal" to different communities around the world. A journey of a mile starts with just one mile, with that in mind I plan to start within my community and with time and more resources expand to other places too.
