A Blood Pressure Lesson From the Brits?



Blood pressure control is one battle where England has us out-manned. An analysis of over 7,000 patients found that 53% of women and 52% of men treated for hypertension managed to get their blood pressure under control in 2006--figures that beat most countries in Europe and certainly the U.S.



How did they do it? The Brits' success may be attributable to a government-sponsored system of financial rewards for physicians whose patients meet certain clinical targets. Read more -
