As the end of the year nears, we’re riding the surge of activity 2022 brought to the World Pulse global network: new product releases, new awards, new connections, and even more impact! Read on to learn about some of the highlights of the year and to help us celebrate all we have done together.

New Release: A Fully Redesigned WorldPulse.org

This summer, we released a new WorldPulse.org, redesigned to be more community-powered. The new platform offers members increased security as well as new interactive features to enable them to easily share their stories, collaborate for change, and connect across borders. In 2023, we'll continue to release updates in response to community feedback, including new ways to take action and support global women changemakers. New Trainings: World Pulse's new, fully online, training suite

In 2022, World Pulse unveiled a new, fully online training suite to deliver digital changemaking skills to women and girls around the world. Free, fully digital, and available to all, this five-part training suite helps women grow their leadership and movement-building skills to make their visions for change a reality. The suite offers courses in basic digital skills, digital storytelling, online advocacy, entrepreneurship, and digital safety and security.

Rising Changemakers launch new initiatives and track their impact on World Pulse

When members asked for more support with digital tools and tactics to boost their online and on-the-ground change work - World Pulse responded. This year, we launched the Changemakers Lab — a six month learning track to strengthen advocacy and movements supporting leaders from 20 countries across five continents who are working on issues ranging from disability rights in Cameroon to human trafficking in India to women’s land rights in Kenya to girls’ education in Uganda.

New Voices: Elevating the stories behind the headlines

2022 saw historic rollbacks for women’s rights, underscoring the need to amplify the voices and experiences of those who are on the front lines of today’s biggest crises. World Pulse’s Story Awards program published behind-the-headlines perspectives and first-hand narratives from women on:

The US Supreme court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade

Sri Lanka’s economic crisis and political collapse

The Philippines’ re-election of a dictator dynasty

The Ukrainian refugee experience, through the eyes of a 16-year-old girl

What’s happening inside Afghanistan, one year after the Taliban’s rise to power

New Awards: World Pulse leaders celebrated globally

Did you hear? This year, World Pulse and community member Bendettah of Kenya were jointly awarded the only UNESCO Chair Prize in Gender, Wellbeing, and Cultures of Peace! Bendettah’s vision to bring healthcare access to women in her community started with a connection she made on World Pulse. Today, she’s brought sustainable health services to more than 8,000 women in 20 rural villages in Kenya. Bendettah joins a long list of World Pulse members who received prestigious awards in 2022, including:

Tiffany Brar, who was awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar annual award for her work empowering visually impaired rural women in India;

Carolyn Seaman, who was honored by Humanitarian Awards Global for her work bringing digital skills to girls in Nigeria;

Sherna Alexander Benjamin, who was recognized by the president of Trinidad & Tobago for her work advancing women’s development;

And Esther Atosha, Sharon Bhagwan Rolls, Paulina Lawsin Nayra, Olanike Olugboji, and Anila Noor who were appointed as ambassadors to the World Trade Congress on Gender.

In 2022, we saw so much growth as a community. Join us in celebrating each of these shared accomplishments and incredible voices.
