1945 - 1949 My High School

18 . My Progress As A High School Student From July 1945 To May 1949 -4years - I joined Sri Majety Guravaiah Hindu High School (MGHHS), Brodipet , Guntur , Andhra Bhaarath As A Student Of Fourth Form ( Ninth Grade ) and spent four years from age 11 to age 15 - 4th , 5th , 6th forms ( 9th , 10th , 11th grades SSLC ) -are you surprised that I took four years to complete three grades - fourth form ninth grade , fifth form tenth grade , and sixth form or 11th grade SSLCEMB ( Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination Madras Board ) - that is because I failed my SSLC examination in April 1948 and had to take the examination again in April 1949 - I will talk about that part in my next page . The subjects during that four year period ( 1945 - 1949 ) are British English , Thelugu , Samskrutham , General Mathematics ( I was scared of Composite Maths ), British History - Stuarts Tudors AngloSaxons , Indian History Guptas Mauryas Muslims EastIndiaCompany Christianity Moguls State of Temples Missionaries Conversions with sword book and bible , British and Indian Geography , and General Chemistry . Now some clarifications - when I joined M G H S in 1945 India was still a British Colony and when I came out of M G H S in 1949 India was Independent ( 15 August 1947 ) for what purpose I will dwell upon this aspect later . These four years of High School study was as a part of erstwhile Madras Secondary School Board as Guntur and rest of Thelugu speaking Andhra was still a part of Madras Presidency as it was known then - ( I feel it should have been so ) till 1953 India was divided on Linguistic Regions and A Thelugu Speaking Andhra State was formed - India that was Bhaarath was partitioned on Religious(1947) and Linguistic(1953) Grounds - so sad - I need to take a break , ponder , gather my thoughts and will be back soon - au revoir - Krishna, balakrishna, balakrishnamurthy, balakrishnamurthy kaanukollu ( until 1948 ) , BALA KRISHNA MURTHY RAMARAJU ( From 1948 To Present and forever that is until 22 July 2018 ) - one small step at a time .
