My Journey:
What I Have Learned , The Challenges, The Growth and the Requirements for 2023 Success.
When I first started my nonprofit career at Foundation Center aka Grant Space which today is called Candid. Candid is a Nonprofit connecting professionals and Nonprofits with educational resources and offering grants opportunities (not free)to change the world. Candid, Foundation Center and Guide Star joined forces to become pretty much One, also a partner to my Foundation Queen Sheba Village, Inc. In this journey as a Nonprofit Leader every thing is earned even the resources offered, often comes with a price tag.
I can respect that after all we Nonprofits have to pay the bills which include rent and rent related expenses. On the other hand there are literally millions of Nonprofits globally suffering or have completely closed their doors especially after Covid -19 Pandemic. Many of these Nonprofits, Ngos, Associations were leaders of color whom were outrageously overlooked and basically discriminated against. Regardless of the good work there were making in their communities it is nearly impossible to operate without the proper resources to do so. This includes supportive people whom may be paid employees, volunteers, etc , resources and definitely financial funding.
While working on this Modules( participating in the Changemakers lab) I am happy to learn that we are re-structuring several things within the organization that is needed to continue to keep our doors open. Healthy wealthy lifestyles begin within reflected back out to inspire others. 2023 is the continue beginning of unlimited prosperity that is ours by divine right. When we prosper we Build to give back.

Let's talk about strategy - One of the strategies I continue to use is Research. The Library and the internet is my best ally most of the time but at the same time it can be very stressful sun up to sun down glued eyed to a computer. My solution health and mental solutions: is meditation, prayer affirmations and my personal Physical therapist. I am grateful for all of three and more. One cannot run a operative Nonprofit by his or herself. I certainly cannot and will never try to. I have a talent and passion for the multi-tasking roles involved in the business and the areas that I am weak in we hire talented pro-bono professionals to extend their skills. It gives strength to our organization. I would suggest to hire others if financially able to or seek volunteers for support. Support volunteers by offering rewards, awards and incentives.
My Personal Growth:
The lessons from Module 5 as stated before now in a previous Module is course Module 5. I shared my journey of how many topics were the glue to stay afloat in this business. Yes Nonprofits are big business! I have changed gears in the way I operate and think and seriously you are forced to because if you don't learn what you can do to save your business you may not have one. I learn something every single day because Nonprofit management is like a world of Economics, it's a huge arena.
Several people within my inner working circle have strengthen my outlook which forced me to change operative gears and still today the gears keep changing. Changing for the better.
New Elements: Some of what I mentioned in the above paragraphs. The new Year of 2023 is upon us and it's exciting to embrace change and evolve. Change is to be celebrated and not feared and this embracing assures me I am on the right track.
SMART goals; My business resources and opportunities are realizing as they should as well as the challenges that oppose me personally but I shall not sacrifice my truth to please or appease others no matter what. Great tangibles and possibilities are always looking up!
Our stakeholders have come into alignment with our mission and we are deleting those that are not delivering, receiving new ones. Communication and social networking remains the key to our success.

We are thriving on the Building Project for young women, girls and families and invite any one whom is reading this to considering making a contribution by sharing the fundraiser or by by offering a skill to volunteer at queenshebavillage.org. Professional collaborations are also open only if you or your foundation is working in this business sharing a likeminded mission. Our building updates are current because growth is fundamentally very important. However we had some unexpected expenses due to the price of building materials that constantly rise up drastically after the Covid Pandemic disaster. Setbacks and delays are frustrating and annoying but we are managing to get through it. All is achievable with positive consistency. We are very happy to employ the building labor staff and a overnight security man.
Impact New Updates: 50,000 total collective of benefitting regional participants overall: The neighboring locations of Bambilor, Sangal Kam, Mbeye and Keur Simbiri. A positive benefits to the local citizens which will call Queen Sheba Village home.
Thank you for reading and have a great safe prosperous day and week ahead.
