The Kind of Leadership I’m Choosing

The New Day Initiative team united by a shared vision to serve our community.

For a long time, I believed leadership was about having all the answers. But as I continue building the New Day Initiative, I’ve learned something different.

Leadership is choosing to keep going even when progress feels slow. It’s showing up for your community before anyone is watching. It’s believing in a vision before others can see it.

My dream is to build something that serves communities for generations—a youth-led initiative that brings hope, supports vulnerable children and families, and empowers young people to create lasting change.

Some days are filled with encouragement. Other days bring challenges and uncertainty. But every small step reminds me why I started.

To every young person building something meaningful: your work matters, even when the results aren’t immediate. Keep going.

I’d love to hear from this community: What has helped you stay committed to your mission during difficult seasons?
